In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that there are plans for Kurt Angle to work some matches for WWE once he returns to the fold after he’s inducted into the Hall of Fame.
It’s not known exactly when Kurt Angle will be wrestling for WWE again, or how extensively he will be used, but plans call for Kurt to do at least some wrestling for the company. In order to get back in a WWE ring Angle would still have to pass a physical, but his involvement would be minimal.
However small his involvement, it is impossible to imagine that fans would sneer at the notion of at least getting a few more matches with the Olympic Hero. He has the opportunity to close his legendary career under the WWE banner. Although he’s spent two more years in TNA than he did with WWE at this point, Vince McMahon’s Land of Powerslams is still his home.
It remains to be seen who will be inducting Kurt Angle into the WWE Hall of Fame, but Jim Ross has stated that he believes John Cena will be the one to do the honors. Angle himself has named Steve Austin as a potential inductor.
Kurt Angle might not have much time left if and when he returns to the ring, but one thing is for sure, anything Angle is involved with will still be something special, if only because he’s a part of it.
