Watching Talking Smack is always fun for wrestling fans because when Daniel Bryan is on the show you never really know what he’s going to say. Bryan doesn’t have much of a filter, so when WWE gives him a live mic on the show he usually spits out more than a few memorable lines.

On this week’s episode of Talking Smack, Bryan got into a war of words with The Miz, and Miz took a shot at him for not being able to wrestle. Bryan then said, “I can’t or they won’t let me? We’ll see in a year and a half, and see what happens.”

Daniel Bryan was forced to retire before he was ready and it’s obvious that the current SmackDown Live General Manager still has a desire to wrestle. Bryan’s WWE deal is set to expire in 2018, and it was noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Daniel Bryan’s quip about his contract might have been more than just an off the cuff comment.

When Daniel Bryan’s contract expires it will be up to him whether he wants to wrestle again or not, but unless something drastic changes he won’t be wrestling in WWE. It was noted that Daniel Bryan was rushed into retirement by Vince McMahon, but his retirement could have been premature.

Bryan has already developed a new wrestling style that he believes will allow him to work matches with lower risk.

One of the goals on Daniel Bryan’s bucket list is to work in CMLL and build to a hair vs. hair match at one of their anniversary shows.

There are a lot of factors for Daniel Bryan to consider in regards to a possible return to the ring, one of which is the fact that he’s going to become a father soon. One thing that would work in Daniel Bryan’s favor if he does decide to wrestle again is that working outside of WWE would allow him to control his own schedule and he could work as much or as little as he wants.
