LA Knight has become one of the most popular stars on the WWE roster in recent years, and it’s clear that there are many fans out there who are hoping to see the former United States Champion reach the next level in his career. A few months ago LA Knight was making his way to the ring for match with Bron Breakker on the 10/27/25 episode of Raw, and he held up a sign that said, “We Want LA Knight, Not Jey Uso,’ as he made his way to the ring.
As LA Knight held up the sign in front of the camera the part of the sign that referenced Jey Uso was covered up by LA Knight’s name card which was displayed at the bottom of the screen. The timing and the placement then led to rumors that WWE was unhappy with Knight for holding up the sign.
During a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, LA Knight was asked if there were any backstage repercussions for him holding up the sign and he joked that if there were he wasn’t aware of it.
“No, nothing whatsoever. If there was, I surely was not aware of it. Nobody said a word or anything. No. I literally just, I saw something about ‘We Want LA Knight.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, yeah.’ I found it humorous to see everybody speculating though.”
“It was a communication thing. There’s a set amount of time for those little scenarios. There was something where literally the word that I heard was, ‘We have a little wiggle room.’ I said, ‘Cool.’ I saw the time was counting down, but I said, ‘We got wiggle room.’ So, I figured an extra five to ten seconds, no problem. Apparently wiggle room was not wiggle room. So, whoever told me we had wiggle room was wrong. I was a little hot about it at first, but someone obviously just communicated wrong to me.”
LA Knight will be teaming with The Usos at WrestleMania 42 this weekend to face the team of IShowSpeed, Logan Paul & Austin Theory. Their match is currently scheduled to open up night 1 of the big event.
Stay tuned for updates.
