Kurt Angle is a living legend. He’s an Olympic gold medalist, he’s a former World Champion and on March 31st he will become a bonafide WWE Hall of Famer.
Kurt has wrestled the best of the best over the years from WWE’s top stars, to TNA’s top stars and everything in between. Angle recently spoke to Forbes to promote his upcoming Hall of Fame induction and he singled out one star in particular who he thinks will down as WWE’s greatest of all time, and that star is none other than John Cena.
“John Cena—he has been the staple of sports entertainment for the last 11 years. The incredible thing about John, John has never been known, personally for all of us, as a fighter. He’s not a guy who’s going to to throw fists and mix it up. But what he has been able to endure for 12, 13 years. Nobody has ever done that. John Cena is the man. I don’t know anybody else who has gone 13 years on top…I’m not going to say he’s was greatest athlete in WWE history, but he will go down as the greatest of all time in WWE history.”
Whether or not John Cena deserves to go down as WWE’s greatest of all time is up for debate, but there’s no denying that he’s had an impressive run at the top, and according to Cena he has no plans to retire anytime soon.
So far Kurt Angle, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and Teddy Long have all been confirmed for the 2017 Hall of Fame class, but no inductors have been announced. Although nothing has been made official, Kurt Angle has already made a list of potential inductors.
“I would say Austin, Cena, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar are my four picks [to induct me into the Hall of Fame].”
Kurt Angle parted ways with WWE in 2006 and fans have been waiting a long time to see him come home. Now that Kurt is back in WWE’s good graces, everyone is waiting to see him get back in the ring. It sounds like Kurt Angle’s in ring return could be happening sooner rather than later, and you can get more on that below.
