Last week on Raw, General Manager Kurt Angle introduced a familiar face to fans which turned out to be John Cena. Following his big victory over Baron Corbin at SummerSlam, Cena is now one of the top stars on Monday Night Raw, and he wasted no time getting down to business.

Cena made it clear that he came to Raw to face off against Roman Reigns, but after Reigns and Cena were interrupted by The Miz and Samoa Joe, they teamed up to face off against the two fellow Raw stars in the main event. But this week it was a different story altogether, as it was confirmed prior to Raw that Cena and Reigns will be facing off at No Mercy, and Monday night they met in the ring to sign the contract and make the match officials.

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle made his way down to the ring for the contract signing, and once things got underway Cena and Reigns held nothing back on the mic. There were quite a few quotable lines from the promo, and today everyone’s talking about whether or not it was a work, or a shoot.

As John Cena and Roman Reigns went to war on the mic, Kurt Angle stood in the corner and soaked it all in. Angle shared a photo of himself watching the promo from inside the ring, and noted that the face he made was his reaction when he realized the promo was a “legit shoot.”

“That look on your face when you realize the in ring promo has turn into a “legit shoot” promo… and you’re enjoying it, and it was Awesome. #CenaVsReigns #RawGM”

  1. Funny how Meltzer reported that it was scripted. I still don’t know if it was 100% scripted. Cena had to ad lib, when Roman, unsurprisingly, forgot his lines.
Either “creative” is getting better, or they gave Cena some breathing room, in terms of his promo.
