Kofi Kingston has picked up some major momentum over the last few weeks, and the fans have made it clear that they want to see Kofi challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Vince McMahon has been doing everything in his power to halt Kofi’s momentum, and he recently booked Kofi in a Gauntlet Match that will see him face Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Erick Rowan and The Bar.
The match will kick off SmackDown on Tuesday, and if Kofi wins he will go on to WrestleMania to challenge Bryan for the belt.
The WWE Stats Twitter page pointed out that no Superstar has ever won a Gauntlet Match in which they were responsible for eliminating four opponents in a row by themselves.
It was noted that Steve Austin eliminated 5 people in a Gauntlet Match in 1999, but was then defeated by Vince McMahon.
If Kofi wins his match on Tuesday not only could he earn a title shot, but he could make history in the process.
No @WWE Superstar has ever won a Gauntlet Match in which they were responsible for eliminating more than 4 opponents in a row all by his/herself.
