WWE Superstar King Barrett will be finishing up with WWE sooner rather than regular. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that King Barrett has given WWE his notice and he will be finishing up with the company in a few months.
The report mentions that Barrett is unhappy with his role in the WWE which is why he told the company he would be leaving. His current deal is set to expire in June and he will not be signing a new one when his current contract ends.
King Barrett, real name Stuart Bennett joined WWE developmental in 2007 and he appeared as a contestant named Wade Barrett on NXT back in 2010. Wade won the contest but then formed the Nexus shortly after it ended. Wade Barrett and the Nexus dominated the main event scene for a few months. Wade Barrett feuded with big names such as John Cena and Randy Orton before the group fizzled out.
Barrett has struggled to find his place in the WWE since then. His spot on the card has fluctuated and he’s had to deal with several injuries. Despite his setbacks Barrett is a former 5 time Intercontinental Champion, a former King of the Ring winner, winner of the first NXT and a former Slammy Award winner.
His Bad News gimmick was the best, and they ended it far too early.
