It’s been a long time since fans have seen Kevin Owens as the former Universal Champion has unfortunately been sidelined due to injury for well over a year.
Kevin Owens was originally set to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, but he announced weeks before the big show that he was dealing with a career threatening neck injury which forced him to step away from the ring so he could undergo surgery. Since then Owens has been recovering and it sounds like he will be returning to WWE sooner than later.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Randy Orton and Kevin Owens are both expected to be returning very soon with Orton perhaps returning in a matter of weeks.
It’s being said that Kevin Owens has dropped weight after a long and frustrating recovery from neck surgery. The expectation is that Owens and Orton will be fresh opponents for Cody Rhodes and CM Punk when they’re back.
Owens last stepped into the ring at the Elimination Chamber premium live event on 3/31/2025 when he faced off against Sami Zayn in an unsanctioned match. Orton last stepped into the ring at WrestleMania 42 when he challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the night 1 main event. Ultimately Rhodes retained.
