It’s been a while since fans have seen Kevin Owens on WWE programming as he’s been sidelined for over a year. Originally Owens was set to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, but it was announced ahead of the show that he was dealing with a career threatening neck injury. The former Universal Champion underwent neck surgery in the summer of 2025 and he’s been recovering ever since.

Now it seems that Kevin Owens will be taking on a new role with WWE as it was announced today that he will be working as a coach on season three of Legends & Future Greats alongside Booker T, Nattie Neidhart & Bubba Ray Dudley. Season three of Legends & Future Greats is set to premiere on A&E at 10 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, April 26.

“I’ve been wrestling for 25 years. Ultimately, for me, I just want to help the next generation, and also, I don’t really know what I’d do with myself if it didn’t. This is just all I’ve done since I was 15. This is what I love, this is what I’ve always loved. Right now, I’ve been off for 8-9 months because of my neck surgery. I’m losing my mind. Like, I just want to be around it.”

Kevin Owens last stepped into the ring at the Elimination Chamber premium live event in March of 2025 when he faced off against Sami Zayn. It’s rumored that Owens is set to be reevaluated this summer, but there’s currently no timeline for a potential return to the ring.
