Over the past few years Kenny Omega has become a big name in the world of professional wrestling, and he’s helped to get a lot of people talking about New Japan Pro Wrestling. It seems that Kenny Omega and New Japan are a perfect fit for one another, and that’s why they’ve decided to continue working together.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Kenny Omega recently signed a new deal with NJPW, and he’ll be sticking with the company through January 31, 2019.
That means fans shouldn’t expect to see a surprise appearance from Omega in the Royal Rumble match, and that also rules him out for a surprise appearance in next year’s match as well.
Last year there was a lot of talk regarding Kenny Omega possibly joining WWE, but in the end he decided to stay with New Japan for another year.
It appears that Kenny made the right choice, as he’s one of the company’s top stars and in 2017 he became the first ever IWGP United States Champion.
Omega was also featured in a top spot at Wrestle Kingdom 12, and his match with Chris Jericho was arguably the most talked about match on the card.
There are quite a few dream matches Kenny Omega could have if he joined the WWE roster, but if any WWE Superstars want to face him before January 31, 2019, they’ll have to go to New Japan to do it.
