AJ Styles won the WWE World Championship on Sunday when he hit Dean Ambrose with a low blow followed by the Styles Clash.
AJ kicked off SmackDown Live this week and he bragged about his victory. AJ told the crowd that “The Champ is here!” and he also referred to himself as “The Champ that runs the camp.”
After several minutes of AJ Styles bragging, John Cena’s music hit and it was clear that Cena had heard enough. Cena told Styles that he has something that belongs to him, and he wants it back. Styles then took off Cena’s armband and threw it at him, but Cena told him he wants the title.
John Cena hyped up the fact that if he wins the title one more time, he will tie Ric Flair’s record. He said he wants to make history off of AJ Styles, and told Styles that he is the face that runs the place, but he’s the man that doesn’t quit, and he’s got one goal and that’s to win the title one more time.
Dean Ambrose then interrupted and Ambrose talked trash to AJ Styles. Cena then talked trash back and forth with Dean Ambrose for a few minutes.
Shane McMahon then came out and announced that AJ Styles will defend his WWE World Championship against John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a triple threat at No Mercy.
