John Cena was the face of the WWE for a long time and throughout the course of his career he’s worked with some of the most legendary singles stars and tag teams in professional wrestling.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray discussed his experience teaming with John Cena on Busted Open Radio, and he noted that The Dudleys worked a six man tag team match where the producers for the match cut their WAZZUP headbutt. However, John Cena insisted that they do the spot and even volunteered to take the heat if there was any pushback.
“John blatantly comes us to me and D-Von in gorilla right before we go out. ‘Do the spot, do it right in the middle of the ring, and when they want to know why, don’t worry. I’ll take all the heat for it.’ John has considerably less time in the business than me and D-Von had, but obviously at that moment in time, a much higher star on the card who has Vince’s ear… [He was] saying man to man, eye to eye, ‘I got you.'”
John Cena was a force to be reckoned with when he was a full time wrestler and he defeated some of the biggest names in the business while he was working at the top of the card. Cena was at times accused of burying talent, and you can find out what Cena had to say in response to those claims here.
