John Cena is known for his charity work, and he’s certainly not shy when it comes to helping others.
The former WWE Champion has been making headlines for showing compassion to a Vietnam War veteran when he paid for their groceries.
Vietnam veteran Charles “Bud” Phillips was purchasing a Publix supermarket in Land O’ Lakes, Florida when Cena decided to do something positive for him. Phillips’ daughter spoke to ET and revealed how it all went down.
“My dad was behind him in the checkout line. They were chatting and John thanked my dad for his service [after] seeing his SeaBees hat. John secretly paid for all of his groceries. My dad didn’t even know until he was being checked out and the cashier said, ‘John paid for your groceries.’ The bill was around $100.”
Phillips’ daughter went on to say that Cena is often spotted at that Publix location, and he’s the “kindest man to everyone.”
