John Cena appeared on Talking Smack this week and he talked about his SummerSlam match with AJ Styles and more.

During the show he was asked if he thinks AJ Styles can take the “John Cena spot” and Cena answered by saying, “I’m openly waiting for someone to step up and do that.” When asked what it will take for somebody to claim his spot he said it will take consistency.

“Consistency, absolute consistency. Everybody asks me, when I’m moving over, and that’s just fuels me to get stronger, faster and hone my craft more. People have moments, moments that last in the annals of WWE history, but if you look at what I’ve done, I just show up all the time and deliver. I am waiting for someone after 14 years to show up all the time and deliver. You can ask many other WWE Superstars who know exactly how hard that is. I’m not waiting for someone to do it once, just to do it consistently better.”

Cena also commented on his match with AJ Styles at SummerSlam and he says that SummerSlam will be the AJ Styles’ first test without his lackeys.

  1. Cena is The Man. The Face of the Place…but there was somebody before him and somebody before that guy. Sooner or later, there will be the new Boss of all Bosses. But until then, to paraphrase The Nature Boy: Whether you love him or you hate him…learn to like him….
