For many Jim Ross has been the voice of wrestling for decades and in 2019 he signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling. Ross was making regular appearances on AEW programming, but has unfortunately missed a lot of time with AEW over the last few years due to health issues.
During a recent episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed that his contract with All Elite Wrestling is up this month. He also indicated that the expiration of his contract could mark the end of his announcing career.
“If you ask me, ‘JR, how much longer you think you’re gonna do announcing?’ Well, I think my contract’s up this month. And so I’m done pretty much.
I don’t want to be done, but if Tony Khan said, ‘JR, thanks for the efforts and thanks for being here,’ then I’d have no problem with that because what else? How could I be such a greedy b*stard and want more in my career than I’ve already received?”
One way or another it seems that we will know what the future holds for Jim Ross sooner than later as he also stated that he doesn’t want his wrestling career to end abruptly, he would like to know that his career is coming to a close so he can end it properly.
