This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live took place from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA and Pittsburgh, along with most of the Northeast was buried by snow. Mauro Ranallo didn’t make the show and he’s since been called out by his fellow commentators.
Josh Mathews and Taz both criticized Mauro for missing the event and now JBL has followed suit.
Ranallo recently shared a picture of a poll from the Wrestling Observer on Instagram, and the poll listed the top 10 best announcers on television which were decided by fans who voted. Mauro Ranallo topped the list with 2,199 votes and he thanked fans for supporting him in the poll.
JBL criticized Mauro for sharing the photo on the latest episode of Bring It To The Table on the WWE Network, and Mauro responded by posting the following on Twitter:
After the show Mauro Ranallo retweeted several tweets from fans who are supporting him and criticizing JBL for bashing the SmackDown Live commentator.
JBL later called out Mauro Ranallo for missing SmackDown this week. He has since deleted the tweet, but he originally posted the following:
“@mauroranallo I made the show, everyone made the show, everyone. Maybe he shouldn’t have bashed me if he wasn’t going to show up.”
Sometimes tension between commentators makes for great television, and there certainly seems to be a great deal of tension between JBL and Mauro. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out on Tuesday night.
