Sunday night at WWE TLC AJ Styles defended his World Championship against Dean Ambrose in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, and the two WWE Superstars went to war. Near the end of the match it seemed like Dean Ambrose had it won, but then James Ellsworth shocked the world when he pushed Dean Ambrose off the ladder, allowing AJ Styles to get the win.

When the match ended, it left everyone to wonder why James Ellsworth would help AJ Styles retain his title, and luckily Ellsworth provided some answers on Talking Smack. During his appearance on the show Ellsworth said that helping AJ Styles retain was part of his strategy. He said that now he will get his guaranteed WWE World Title match against AJ Styles, and he’s got AJ’s number, and he’s going to win the title, because he’s already beaten AJ three times
He said he’s not worried about Dean Ambrose because they go way back, and he’ll give Dean Ambrose a shot at the WWE World Title when he defeats AJ Styles. Daniel Bryan pointed out how Dean Ambrose has helped James Ellsworth defeat AJ Styles in the past, and he questioned if Ellsworth is capable of defeating Styles on his own.
James Ellsworth then announced that he spoke to Shane McMahon, and he’s set to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE World Title on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.
