The big WWE Raw premiere aired live from the Intuit Dome on Monday night and a number of big names were in the building. The show featured appearances from The Rock, John Cena, The Undertaker and former WWE Champion Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan has been one of the biggest names in wrestling for decades now, but the Los Angeles fans made it clear that they weren’t happy to see him as they tried to drown him out with boos for the entirety of his promo.
Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda is reporting that sources close to the situation informed him that Hulk Hogan admitted the reaction may have been due to politics. It’s being reported that a statement was made that he, “stood for what they didn’t stand for.”
It’s being said that the reaction didn’t shock Hulk Hogan as he “thought it was going to be 50/50” heading into Los Angeles. The belief is that moving forward Hogan might be more mindful regarding which cities he chooses for future live appearances.
WWE recently announced a multi-year partnership with Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer which will see the brand advertised on the ring mat for Raw on a weekly basis. The official press release also noted that WWE is now a minority owner in the company.
Ahead of Raw, Fightful Select reported that Hulk Hogan has been discussed for some upcoming appearances with the company. Hogan was featured in a recent ad for Saturday Night’s Main Event, but it hasn’t been confirmed that he’ll be making an appearance at the event.
There’s no word on whether or not WWE might be reconsidering future appearances for Hulk Hogan following the reaction he received on Raw.
Stay tuned for updates.
