The Royal Rumble is just around the corner and this week on Friday Night SmackDown, Ricochet and Top Dolla faced off in a qualifying match for the men’s Royal Rumble. Before the match kicked off Michael Cole made it a point to note that there were issues between Ricochet and Top Dolla because Ricochet made fun of Top Dolla’s botch from a few weeks ago where he fell over the top rope.
The match only lasted a few minutes and Ricochet picked up the win when he hit a Shooting Star Press then pinned Top Dolla. After the match Top Dolla went in to shake Ricochet’s hand and he assured Ricochet that they’re cool now. They shook hands and then Hit Row turned on Ricochet as they took turns attacking him before Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis hit Ricochet with a double team move.
Eventually Braun Strowman decided that he had seen enough and he ran down to the ring to make the save. Ricochet is now the second competitor confirmed for the 30 man Royal Rumble match along with Kofi Kingston.
