Last year Stephanie McMahon announced that she would be taking a leave of absence from WWE, but the leave of absence didn’t last long as she returned to work as the interim CEO and Chairwoman of WWE after Vince McMahon stepped down amid the hush money scandal. Stephanie McMahon was then appointed co-CEO alongside Nick Khan when Vince McMahon officially retired. In January it was revealed that Vince McMahon had returned to WWE to sell the company, and shortly after Stephanie McMahon announced that she had officially resigned from the company.

Since then there’s been a lot of speculation regarding why Stephanie McMahon retired, and Mick Foley recently explained on his Foley Is Pod show why he thinks it was the right time for Stephanie to step away.

“I think it’s a good time to be stepping away because once Triple H is back as Head of Creative, you’re talking about parents being on the road a lot, working full-time, at a time when the girls are, I think, 19 years? [They need somebody] Yeah, and I think it’s a good time to step away. She [Stephanie McMahon] has got the rest of her life ahead of her. To me, there is nothing she can do.”

Foley went on to say that he thinks Stephanie will eventually return to WWE unless she chooses a new career path when he added, “I think great is defined by somebody who really exhibits characteristics of greatness. To me, that’s her. My guess is she will be back at some point in WWE, but she chooses a different career path; I think she can do anything she sets her mind on.”

Do you think Stephanie McMahon will return to WWE someday? Sound off in the comments below.
