On the debut episode of “E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness“, Edge and Christian had Goldberg as their guest. Goldberg shared his personal experience of headbutting the door that night on Raw when he busted himself open before his promo even started.
“You guys know me dude, I go from zero to a hundred,” Goldberg said to Edge and Christian. “How about when I knocked myself out on the door. You didn’t hear that one? I did that a month ago.”
Christian said, “We all have our different ways of getting ready.” Goldberg laughed and continued: “Well, yeah my way of getting ready — you know me man. They knock on my door, I pour a bottle of water on my head so I don’t catch on fire from the sparks, and I headbutt the door. I’m a neanderthal, that’s what I do. So, fast forward now I’m a little bit seasoned and things are not the same but I’m trying to remember my sequence. So I headbutt the door, and all of a sudden, you know I pull that door open man and I’m like I don’t know what’s going on and I was a little dizzy.”
“I’m walking to the ring, and I go through Gorilla [Position] and then I get in the ring, man. And I literally forgot every single thing that I was supposed to say. And the cameraman throws me a towel. And I’m like, ‘what is this towel for?’ I know I sweat a lot but I got blood dripping down my forehead from the door. And I had no idea man. I don’t do this stuff to be written about, I do it because I gotta do certain things to be me. There is a process man, and I told Mr. McMahon afterwards and I said, ‘fault me for trying too hard and not trying hard enough.’ You know?”
