WrestleMania is always full of surprises and this year it was rumored that former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg would be making an appearance. Obviously the rumor wasn’t true because he didn’t show up last night.

According to Goldberg an appearance at WrestleMania 32 was never in the cards for him, but he thanked the fans for their support.

After WCW closed up shop in 2001 Bill Goldberg went under the radar for a little while. He eventually made his WWE debut in 2003 when he confronted The Rock the night after WrestleMania 19. He worked with WWE for less than a year but he went on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship during his run with the company. Goldberg’s final match took place on March 14, 2004 when he wrestled Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20.

Back in November of 2015 Bill told Ring Rust Radio that his ideal final opponent would be “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

“It would be Austin for sure. Brock would be a good one since we have unfinished business. At the end of the day that everyone clamors for, and I even clamor for, would be Austin and me. There will always be a question mark there unless we were to do something one on one. It’s kind of a match made in heaven.”

Goldberg rumors come and go every year when WrestleMania season rolls around. There seems to be some bad blood between him and WWE, so at this point a return to the company seems unlikely. But this is wrestling so you can never say never.

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dave Bautista announced on Twitter this morning that he has officially joined the cast of the upcoming “Blade Runner” sequel. The movie sequel is set to be released in 2018 and it also stars Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling.
