Triple H has faced some legendary wrestlers on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and he put his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line at WrestleMania 19 when he defended the belt against Booker T. The match still a hot topic among fans today as Triple H picked up the win, but many people felt that Booker T should have won the title at WrestleMania.

Former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz recently discussed the match on 1140 AM, and he noted that Booker T winning the match was definitely an option that was considered. However, ultimately Booker didn’t pick up the victory as WWE officials believed that the title win would get lost in the shuffle.

“I think that the mindset at the time was that it was the title match that was third or fourth last on the card and the moment would be lost in the totality of the show if we pulled the trigger and named a new champion. Now, I’m not saying that was the smart decision or one that I was necessarily in agreement with at the time, but I think that was the mindset.”

Even though Booker T didn’t win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 19 he did go on to defeat Rey Mysterio to win the belt a few years later at the 2006 Great American Bash pay-per-view. Do you think Booker should have defeated Triple H when they faced off at WrestleMania? Sound off in the comments below.
