Edge was the first man to cash in Money in the Bank, and his cash in was a major success as he defeated John Cena to become WWE Champion for the first time in his career at New Year’s Revolution in 2006.
The next night on Raw the Rated R Superstar celebrated his major win with Lita when they had a live sex celebration in the middle of the ring.
The live celebration has become one of the most talked about segments in the history of the company, and during a recent appearance on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw former WWE writer Chris DeJoseph explained how it all came together.
“Edge had just won the title from John Cena and cashed in the Money in the Bank. We were in a meeting with Vince and he said, ‘Well what would you do if you won the title and you’re Edge?’ and I said, ‘I would have sex with my girlfriend in the middle of the ring for everybody to see.’ So that’s kind of how that live sex celebration thing happened.”
Edge was recently written off TV when The Judgement Day turned on him after accepting Finn Balor into the group. It’s not clear at this point when he will return. Stay tuned for updates.
