There’s been a lot of movement in the pro wrestling world over the last few months and now it seems that a Hall of Famer is set to part ways with AEW. Mark Henry first signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2021, but the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion confirmed on Busted Open Radio that his contract with the company will expire on Tuesday, May 28th.

Marl Henry explained that he will not be renewing his deal with All Elite Wrestling. He noted that his experience with AEW was positive, but feels that the departure is mutual because he’s focused on outside projects. Mark Henry also clarified that he is not done with professional wrestling.

“My contract with AEW is set to expire tomorrow the 28th, and today of course is the 27th, so I wanted to address that matter. Tony Khan said at the press conference that he was very happy, and proud of what we did together, and I feel the exact same way. I appreciate everything that happened at AEW with Tony Khan and the Khan family. I had a great experience. I do feel like it’s time for me to take more time to handle TheMarkHenry.com and the Remarkable brand, and focus that attention on what my next steps are.

I am not gonna be renewing my deal. I think that it’s a mutual thing. If I can’t dedicate 100% of myself it’s only fair for both parties to end the relationship on a positive note. Like I said, it’s been nothing but positive. I’ve done my best to help as many people as I could. There was still some things that I wanted to help with that I didn’t get to finish, but those people have my phone number. Any time they need to call me I’m available for them. I’m not leaving pro wrestling. What I’m saying is I’m gonna take some time to work on some projects, and I’m gonna come back full force because that’s what I do.”

Stay tuned for more updates on Mark Henry’s status as they become available.
