Cody Rhodes first made his debut as a WWE Superstar back in 2007, and he’s come a long way since then. Rhodes has become a three time Undisputed WWE Champion, and he’s also competed in the WrestleMania main event five times now.
Everyone knows that The American Nightmare is happily married to Brandi Rhodes, but he previously dated former WWE Women’s Champion Layla. During a recent interview with Sports Shadow News, Layla talked about her relationship with Cody and said that she dated him because she knew he was going to be a star.
“I started dating Cody [Rhodes] because I knew he was gonna be a star and he had a lot of dreams and everything that he told me that he was gonna do, he’s done it. So congratulations to him because for someone who can tell you their dreams and they’re going to make it happen and they do make it happen, congratulations.
So yeah, of course I saw it because I wouldn’t have dated him or been with him if I didn’t see everything that people were seeing now.”
It was confirmed on the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown that Cody Rhodes will be defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther at Clash in Italy later this month.
