In the land of WWE Vince McMahon is the boss, which means he has the final say in regards to what happens inside the ring.
Former WWE Superstar Rhyno recently appeared on Talk Is Jericho, and he noted that during a match against Tajiri at a live event in 2003 the fans started chanting “boring” so Vince McMahon came down to the ring, stopped the match and sent both Superstars backstage after cutting a promo.
“In the long run, I don’t hold anything personally against [Vince]. Hey, it’s your company. Actually, what’s funny is I think afterwards he kind of realised that it was a d*** move – he would never admit to it – but my pay check was actually really good that day.”
Rhyno also noted that he was paid double what he expected to receive for the live event.
He went on to say that Vince McMahon told him he couldn’t afford to make any mistakes in the match against Tajiri, and another WWE agent told him to play into the frustration of the crowd, which is why he kept a submission locked in when the “boring” chants started.
According to Rhyno, Vince wasn’t mad and Vince told him that the agent who gave him that advice “must not have been a top guy.”
