AEW first launched in 2019 and since then fans have seen many wrestlers make the jump from WWE to AEW. A few months ago Roderick Strong shocked the world when he made his AEW debut and saved his friend Adam Cole.
It had been rumored for some time that Roderick Strong was looking to leave WWE, but talk about his status was quiet in the months leading up to his AEW debut which is why so many people were surprised to see him on TV.
During a recent appearance on the AEW Unrestricted podcast Roderick Strong admitted that he wanted to be part of the AEW roster so that he could be in the same promotion with his wife and his friends.
“I really wanted to be with my buddies and with my wife. AEW reminded me so much what I loved about Ring of Honor, the collective ‘everybody wants it to be better.’”
Recently Roderick Strong has been involved in a storyline where he’s become increasingly frustrated with Adam Cole and MJF’s friendship. Strong has now seemingly aligned himself with The Kingdom as his friendship with Adam Cole is falling apart, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
