ec3

EC3 first signed with WWE in 2009 and he went on to compete under the name Derrick Batemen until he was released in 2013. From there he went on to become one of the top stars in Impact Wrestling where he became a two time Impact Wrestling World Champion. When EC3 returned to WWE in 2018 fans had high hopes for him on the NXT brand, and it seemed like things were going well. However, when he got to the main roster fans didn’t get to see the same character they saw in NXT, and he was released once again in 2020.

While talking about his WWE release on Under The Ring, EC3 noted that it was horrible for him, but also emphasized that he wasn’t bitter about the company letting him go.

“It was horrible — it sucked from a business and a personal standpoint, but I’ve never been bitter or resentful or angry, because everything that happens to you has to happen to you, for reasons that either pan out or they don’t.”

While talking about his regrets in regard to his last run with WWE the former WWE 24/7 Champion admitted that he regrets not going all in and go after what he felt he deserved.

“Did I do everything I possibly could to make sure they knew who the ‘F’ I was? Probably not. If I have a regret, my regret is I didn’t go all in, to either get fired or get what I thought I deserved. I kind of just let it lay, because it’s very easy to kind of just — ‘Well, I’m getting paid a bunch of money. If I speak up, I could take that risk and make more, and get what I really feel like I should have, or I could get fired and have nothing.’ So it’s kind of a tough situation.”
