2025 has officially arrived and the next premium live event on the schedule is the Royal Rumble. Every wrestling fan knows that the Royal Rumble is one of WWE’s most exciting shows of the year as you never know who’s going to return.
During a recent appearance on the No Name Wrestling podcast former WWE star Santino Marella claimed that WWE has not yet contacted him about possibly appearing at the Royal Rumble. However, it appears that Marella is ready to go if WWE does contact him as he noted that he has an idea that would involve him appearing in the same Royal Rumble match as his daughter
“So my daughter, she had a little shoulder surgery that…she’s back in the ring from it, but she hasn’t re-debuted yet. So I was pitching…I don’t think it’s ever been done, father/daughter in the same Rumble. So it [would] be really big for her to return to the programming and, you know, I’m down to show and just, yeah, just get that experience. Royal Rumble’s my favorite PPV of the year.”
If this idea were to happen it would presumably involve the former Intercontinental Champion bringing back his Santina Marella gimmick which was just Santino in a wig. Santina Marella previously competed in the Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25, and in the women’s Royal Rumble match in 2020.
