Last year CM Punk won the AEW World Championship at the All Out pay-per-view and it was reported that he was involved in a physical altercation with The Elite after the show. The altercation has since become infamous in the world of professional wrestling and while The Elite have returned to AEW programming CM Punk has yet to make his way back to TV.

It seems that everyone has an opinion on CM Punk’s altercation with The Elite and EC3 recently explained during an appearance on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge that he sent Tony Khan an inspirational message after everything went down.

“I emailed Tony. Not at all with the intent to get a job, that’s how I led off the email. It was when all the initial Punk and Young Bucks and all that thing went off. Just cause I thought he might be a guy who lacked anybody that would just…he doesn’t have a close relationship with to tell him something.

“It was just an inspirational, leadership message, because in theory, I do believe we need as much competition as possible for the sanctity of the industry. So I sent a hopefully inspirational message on leadership and what it takes. I’ve never heard anything back.”

AEW has yet to make any official announcements, but it’s rumored that the company will be launching a third show on Saturdays in June with CM Punk as the star. It’s also been reported that the show will be used to split the roster with The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club remaining on Wednesdays. Stay tuned for updates.
