It was a big weekend for the stars of WWE as SummerSlam aired live from Ford Field in Detroit, and it appears that an interesting name is in town for Raw this week.
PWInsider is reporting that NWA World Champion Nick Aldis is backstage at WWE Monday Night Raw in Minneapolis. The report notes that Aldis is being brought in as a potential producer and he is set to be at a number of upcoming TV tapings.
Last year Nick Aldis parted ways with NWA and the wrestling world immediately started talking about the possibility of him joining WWE. However, Aldis returned to Impact Wrestling for a short run that concluded with Alex Shelley defeating him in the Impact Wrestling World Championship match at Slammiversary.
It’s also worth noting that Nick Aldis recently pulled out of several upcoming independent events he was booked for due to back issues. Only time will tell what the future holds for Nick Aldis and WWE, but it seems that the company is giving him a shot in the producer role. Stay tuned for updates.
