In recent weeks a number of wrestlers have parted ways with WWE for various reasons. Multiple WWE stars were released from their contracts, and it was also revealed that WWE informed Sonya Deville her contract would not be renewed.
Now it seems that another WWE deal is up as Masked J of PWN and Fightful Select are both reporting that Carmella is no longer with the company because her contract has expired.
Carmella first signed with WWE in 2013 and she went on to join the NXT brand. In 2016 she was called up to SmackDown in the WWE Draft. Carmella went on to make history in 2017 when she won the first ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. The Princess of Staten Island ended up cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion was out of action in August of 2022, and later returned to WWE in January of 2023. She then went on hiatus in March of 2023 due to her real life pregnancy. Carmella has been out of action since then and recently revealed that she had been battling drop foot.
