You never know who might return during WrestleMania season and last month former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Booker T made his return during the 30 man Royal Rumble match. Booker didn’t last very long as he was eliminated by Gunther, and he recently indicated that he would be retiring from in-ring competition following the Royal Rumble match.

Booker T addressed the status of his in-ring career during an episode of the Hall of Fame podcast and he followed up on his claim that he plans to retire following his appearance in the Royal Rumble.

“I just retired and I just put my retirement gear up on eBay,” Booker said. “We looking for a stiff, stiff penny for the retirement gear of Booker T and I did that because I’m done. I’m finished. I don’t want to see tights, I don’t want to see those boots, knee pads. Everything is going, one, one lump … that walk to the ring at the Rumble, that blew me, okay? I was done after that. They could’ve just threw him out of the ring as soon as I got in.”

Currently Booker T is 57 years old and is a two time WWE Hall of Famer. Throughout his in-ring career he managed to capture numerous championships as he is a five time WCW World Champion, one time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and an eleven time WCW Tag Team Champion. Even though he’s retired from in-ring competition Booker T is still a regular on WWE programming as he provides commentary for NXT on Tuesday nights. Stay tuned for updates.
