In recent years a number of surprising names have parted ways with WWE, and now it seems that a former champion is no longer with the company. Recently Cedric Alexander took to social media to confirm that he is done with WWE when posted the following announcement:

“Thank you for the last 8 1/2 years!

Being a professional wrestler has been a dream of mine since I could form memories and I will continue to do so till the good Lord says otherwise.

#SeeYouIn90”

It’s not clear at this point in time what led to the departure, but the #SeeYouIn90 hashtag in Alexander’s tweet seems to indicate that he will be waiting out a 90 day non-compete clause following his WWE departure.

Cedric Alexander first started working with WWE in 2016 when he competed in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. In the years that followed he went on to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, WWE 24/7 Championship and WWE Raw Tag Team Championship.

Stay tuned for more updates on Cedric Alexander’s departure as they become available.
