Over the last few years a number of talented teams have managed to win gold in All Elite Wrestling, and back in October of 2024, Private Party defeated The Young Bucks to become the new AEW Tag Team Champions. Unfortunately for Private Party their run with the belts came to an end last week when they dropped the AEW Tag Team Titles to Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley.
Matt Hard has been a big supporter of Private Party for some time now, and he recently explained where he thinks AEW dropped the ball with the team during an episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy.
“I feel bad for Private Party. I really think there was something you could’ve built on and that could’ve made them legitimate stars, and they’re day-oners in AEW, and I hate that we didn’t really work hard to make them legit as a tag team. I think there was an opportunity where the ball was dropped.”
“Once they won the titles, they got that fantastic and organic reaction, and the Bucks busted their a** to make them in that match. You had a chance to make them, but you need a plan.”
Following their win last week it seems that The Hurt Syndicate will be the top stars in the AEW tag team division moving forward. There’s currently no word on what’s next for Private Party.
