Monday was a chaotic night for Seth Rollins as he was attacked by a fan as he was making his way to the back following a segment with Finn Balor. The fan has been identified as Elisah Spencer, and he’s now facing criminal charges for the attack.
It was recently revealed that Spencer had been in contact with a fake account claiming to be Seth Rollins, and that the person behind the account scammed him out of money. Spencer told the Daily News that he has apologized to WWE for his actions.
“I apologized to the WWE for my actions. I had a legitimate beef but as a grown man I could have settled it a different way … If I saw him today I wouldn’t attack him. I’ve moved on.”
According to Spencer he met Seth Rollins at a meet and greet in 2019, and then he started communicating with someone he thought was Seth Rollins on WhatsApp. The person behind the fake account scammed him out of about $3,000 worth of gift cards, and then sent him a check which bounced.
“He was asking me to send him gift cards in exchange for money, mostly $500 or more to see if I was loyal,” Spencer said. “He asked me to be a wrestling blogger for him. I wanted to work my way up.”
Seth Rollins recently issued his own statement on the incident and you can get more on that here.
