Prior to her current run with TNA Wrestling, Elayna Black was performing in NXT as Cora Jade. She originally signed with the company in 2021, but after four years with WWE she was released in May of 2025.
This was a challenging time for the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion as she recently revealed in a new documentary that she was dealing with several issues at the time she was released.
“Ectopic pregnancy, boyfriend leaves me, lose my knee, dog dies, and then I got fired a few months later. I was so scared of losing anything else that mattered to me that I didn’t want to pretend like anything mattered to me.
When I got fired, inside, I was like, ‘Oh, holy s**t. I just, I’ve lost the literal last thing. Like, I have lost everything. This was the very last thing, and now I’ve lost this. I literally have nothing.’”
Luckily for Elayna Black, her luck has turned around this year as she signed with TNA Wrestling back in January and has since gone on to become one of the top stars in the knockouts division.
While talking about her reason for signing with the company, Black said, “I just wanted to love wrestling again. For the first time in a long time I felt like this is where I’m supposed to be which took a long f***ing time to get here, but here we are.”
