Fans see wrestlers use the chop often while watching professional wrestling, and even though the move is simple, it can make quite an impact.

WWE Hall of Famer Edge discussed the chop during a recent episode of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, and he noted that Chris Benoit had the hardest chops.

“You know whose would really hurt? Chris Benoit,” he said. “Again, I remember one night in Montreal, Canada they had done a deal where it was a house show and they did a Battle Royal first match of the night, and the winner of that Battle Royal they would face me in the main event. Chris Benoit goes over in the Battle Royal and he and I go into the last match.”

Edge also revealed that he had the flu that night, and when he wrestled in the main event Benoit hit him with a chop to the throat.

“Prior to I already had the cold and the flu so right in the beginning of the match he came up and chopped me and hit me right in the throat and I just remembered thinking, oh my God. I don’t know what is happening to my throat. It just hurts so bad,” Edge said.

The WWE Hall of Famer went on to say that he was bleeding and that Benoit hit him with an enziguri, and he doesn’t remember much of the match after that, but he managed to drive from Toronto to Montreal after the event was over.

Sounds like a rough night that Edge will never forget.
