Dustin Rhodes is a professional wrestling veteran and he’s still going strong at 55 years old. It looks like Rhodes will be competing in AEW for the foreseeable future as he announced in December of 2024 that he had signed a new multi-year contract with the company.

Recently Dustin Rhodes was a guest on The Battleground podcast, and the current ROH World Tag Team and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion stated that he will be looking compete in a retirement match in three years.

“I have had this planned the last couple of years of who I want to finish up with. That’s going to take place in three years. It’s going to be tough to step away. By no means am I anywhere on Sting’s level, but I want that same kind of out. I think I’ve earned it.”

While some wrestlers prefer to lose their retirement match, Dustin made it clear that he wants to go out with a victory when he added, “I want to win. I want to win that last match. I don’t want to lose. It means a lot to me, and I have been putting a lot of thought into it. I would say probably about three years. Things change. We’ll see where they take us. It’s hard enough to even say, ‘It’s almost time, Dustin.’ That’s tough.”

According to Dustin he’s still planning to produce and coach the younger generation after he retires, so he won’t be stepping away from the business completely when he retires.
