Last month Drew McIntyre challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle and it was Roman who walked out with the gold after Solo Sikoa helped him get the win. The United Kingdom had been waiting a long time for an event like Clash at the Castle and the fans inside Principality Stadium were loud throughout the show.
Drew McIntyre received a lot of support from the fans who let him know that they weren’t happy when Roman retained the title. While speaking with My San Antonio, Drew discussed the reaction while noting that he asked Roman Reigns if he had ever heard anything like it once the match was finished.
“But they [fans] were 100 percent for me and against Roman and the atmosphere was great. I even asked Roman afterwards – because he has been a part of these matches with big crowds – have you heard anything like that, and he said ‘No.’ You’d be hard-pressed to find a crowd that was that loud consistently throughout, especially our match. It was a World Cup soccer match the way they were shouting — the way they were singing their songs and chanting ‘F-U Roman’ the entire time. And they were not happy with that finish. I was generally concerned about rioting.”
Drew McIntyre will be in action this Saturday at the Extreme Rules premium live event when he faces Karrion Kross in a Strap Match. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
