Drew McIntyre has been one of the top stars in WWE for some time now and he played a big role on the road to WrestleMania. McIntyre has been feuding with CM Punk and Seth Rollins and he managed to defeat Seth Rollins to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 40. Unfortunately for Drew his title reign didn’t last very long as he was attacked by CM Punk after the title match then Damian Priest successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.
There’s been a lot of talk about Drew McIntyre’s contract status over the last few months and Fightful Select is now reporting that Drew still hasn’t signed a new deal.
It was noted that even though Drew hasn’t signed a new deal yet WWE has plans for Drew McIntyre and the company plans on retaining him. Originally Drew McIntyre’s deal was set to expire before WrestleMania 40, but time was added to the deal. Now his deal is expected be up in a few months.
Drew has reportedly expressed a desire to stay with WWE, and has also expressed confidence when it comes to him succeeding elsewhere if needed. Stay tuned for updates.
