roman reigns

Roman Reigns had a big night at WrestleMania 38 back in April as he defeated Brock Lesnar to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. However, Reigns has yet to defend his belts since he became Undisputed Champion, and appearances from The Tribal Chief on WWE programming have been few and far between recently.

WrestleVotes reports that the original idea was to have Roman Reigns unify the titles so that he could appear on both Raw and SmackDown more often.

The Tribal Chief has stated that he’s entering a new phase of his career, and back in May, Roman Reigns addressed a crowd at a WWE live event while telling them that he won’t be doing too many live events moving forward. Reigns did not appear at the Hell in a Cell premium live event earlier this month, and he’s not expected to be part of Money in the Bank in July.

This week on SmackDown, Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Riddle, and it was announced this week on Raw that if Riddle doesn’t win he will no longer be able to challenge for the title while Roman Reigns is the champion.

Roman Reigns is expected to defend his title against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, but those plans have not been confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
