For years now Charlotte Flair has been one of the top stars in the WWE women’s division, but she spent the majority of 2022 away from WWE as she was out of action for months.
Charlotte Flair addressed her status during an interview with the New York Post and she noted that she underwent multiple dental procedures that kept her out of action as she couldn’t risk getting hit in the face for weeks at a time. She also added that she could have been back for SummerSlam in late July, but she stayed on the sidelines because she knew she still had to get one more procedure done.
“I had to. I didn’t have a choice but to take care of these issues,” Charlotte said.
Ultimately Charlotte Flair returned to the ring in December and she defeated Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Title in her first match back. Charlotte has been receiving a positive reaction from the fans in recent weeks after being booked as a heel for years, and she noted that she’s just going to go with it.
“Seeing the reaction still, as it continues. I’m just like, ‘go with it.’ Don’t force anything. This is the first time that I genuinely feel right in the good-guy role. I’m not saying how long that will last, but it feels right right now.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Charlotte’s status as they become available.
