WWE released a number of talents today and the wrestling world was shocked to see that Dolph Ziggler’s name was on the list. Dolph Ziggler had been with WWE for almost two decades, but it seems that his run with the company has finally come to an end.
Fightful Select is reporting that Dolph Ziggler was actually ready to leave WWE years ago, but he got talked into staying with the company. Originally Dolph Ziggler’s contract with WWE was set to extend into next summer.
Following his WWE release various wrestlers have taken to social media to show support for Dolph Ziggler including John Cena and Big E. It’s not clear at this point in time where Dolph Ziggler will go from here, or if he will continue wrestling.
It’s believed that the released WWE stars will have to wait out a 90 day non-compete clause, so it will be interesting to see if Ziggler resurfaces somewhere else in a few months.
