Back in May Cody Rhodes defeated Lance Archer in the finals of the TNT Championship tournament, and he became the inaugural TNT Champion.
Since then Cody has been a fighting champion who has put his title on the line every week in an open challenge, but his reign came to an end on Saturday night when he was defeated by Brodie Lee.
After the match The Dark Order laid into Cody Rhodes with a vicious attack, and it appears that this was AEW’s way of writing him off TV.
According to PWInsider it’s expected that Cody Rhodes will be off AEW programming for an extended period of time in order to sell the beating he took from The Dark Order.
AEW has announced that an update on Cody’s condition will be provided on Dynamite, which is set to air on Thursday this week due to the NBA Playoffs.
It was also noted that the STARZ show Heels is going into production in Georgia, and Stephen Amell has asked Cody to get involved with the series.
