The AEW Dynasty pay-per-view aired live on Sunday night and MJF successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega in the main event. During the post-show media scrum Tony Khan announced that MJF would be defending the belt against Darby Allin on this week’s episode of Dynamite.

The show kicked off with MJF finding out about the match right before Darby Allin made his entrance. After Darby made his way to the ring, MJF came out and objected to the match while he threatened to sue Tony Khan and AEW. MJF said that his back hurts following his match with Kenny Omega, and it wouldn’t be a good look for the company if they forced him to wrestle while injured.

Bryan Danielson stood up and said that he just got a message from Tony Khan, and he agrees with MJF that it’s unfair for him to wrestle when he’s unprepared. He then announced that the AEW World Championship match would happen in the main event, and MJF would be stripped of the title if he refused.

As Darby Allin was making his way to the ring before the main event Sting stopped him backstage. Darby said, “It’s showtime,” and Sting stopped him as he replied, “No, it’s your time.”

When the match kicked off MJF gave the dynamite diamond ring to Aubrey Edwards then hit Darby with a low blow when she turned around. MJF got pushed into Aubrey and then Darby hit MJF with a low blow of his own.

Darby followed up with a Scorpion Death Drop followed by four Coffin Drops. He picked MJF and put him in the side headlock then pinned him to win the title. After the match the AEW locker room walked out to the ring to celebrate with Darby. Sting came out after and joined the group as the show went off the air.
