Bray Wyatt wrestled his last match on WWE programming back in January when he defeated LA Knight in the first ever Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble premium live event. The former Universal Champion unfortunately didn’t compete at WrestleMania this year because he was sidelined due to health issues.

Karrion Kross recently opened up about his relationship with Bray Wyatt while speaking with Chris Van Vliet, and he noted that he and Wyatt would talk off and on when he worked as an extra for WWE. Kross also claimed that Bray Wyatt reached out to him and indicated that he wanted to face off in the ring at some point while Kross was still on the indies, and Bray reached out again once Kross joined NXT.

According to Karrion Kross there was talk of him and Bray Wyatt working together at WrestleMania 39, and they had ideas to involve Alexa Bliss, Scarlett, and Bo Dallas, presumably as the Uncle Howdy character.

“So we fast forward. I haven’t talked to like anybody but my wife about this. So fast forward, we were supposed to work last WrestleMania. Nobody knew that except for a collection of writers and some people in the office. [Van Vliet clarifies, was this WrestleMania 39?] Yeah. We were slated to do something. And we would talk for hours about how we wanted to get into it, what we wanted to deliver creatively for people where we thought we both needed to be.

“We had ideas with like Alexa and Bo and Scarlett. You know, and then everything happened the way it did. But he left a mark on anybody and everybody that he ever met. And it’s just very strange the way everything kind of just played out, like, beautiful and tragic. And he was always an inspiration to me and always showed me warmth. He showed everybody warmth, you know what I mean? But I just have so many, I have more stories than we have time to share. But we were cool and I’ll never forget him.”
