Roman Reigns has dominated the main event scene for well over a decade in WWE, and he made history when he held the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for 1,316 days. The Tribal Chief established himself as one of the longest reigning champions of the modern era with a title reign that will be talked about for years to come.
Recently ROH Women’s Champion Athena surpassed 1,317 days with the title, and she reacted to the milestone when she posted the following comments on social media:
“I meant FOREVER!!!! Longest reigning champion of the modern era belongs to me and me only!! #ForeverROHChamp #FallenGoddess #AmericanJoshi”
The comments section on Athena’s post is full of supportive messages from fans congratulating the ROH Women’s Champion on surpassing Roman’s record.
While Athena has surpassed The Tribal Chief’s record, Roman Reigns managed to become a 7 time world champion in WWE when he defeated CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship in the night 2 main event at WrestleMania 42. As of this writing Reigns has held the title for 92 days and counting. It has been confirmed that he will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam next month.
