The AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view is set to air live from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida on Saturday and the show is set to feature the first ever Clockwork Carnage match. Will Ospreay will be defending the AEW World Championship against seven other competitors in the Clockwork Carnage match and Samoa Joe and Mike Bailey recently confirmed for two of the spots.
This week on AEW Dynamite several more Clockwork Carnage qualifying matches took place during the show and Cope defeated Josh Alexander in the first qualifying match. Konosuke Takeshita defeated Brian Cage and Kazuchika Okada defeated Myron Reed to qualify for the match.
During the special episode of Collision that aired immediately after Dynamite, Ricochet qualified for the match when he defeated Ace Austin, and Darby Allin qualified for the match when he defeated Hechicero.
The rules listed for the Clockwork Carnage match are as follows, “Two wrestlers will start with two wrestlers selected at random. Every three minutes, another randomly selected wrestler enters. Until all eight wrestlers have entered, any wrestler who is pinned or submits is eliminated. Once the final wrestler enters, all remaining wrestlers enter a 15-minute scoring period. During those 15 minutes, every pinfall or submission scores one fall. When the time expires, the wrestler with the most falls wins.”
